NEWSLETTER. SEPT 22
Well, here we are coming up to September. The Summer Holidays are over. Workers are back in the office. Children and students are back at school. We are back to business. What does the Lord want for us this Autumn.
GIVE ME THIS MOUNTAIN
The Lord gave us this theme at the beginning of 2022. He said there was new ground for us to take, new heights in ministry and worship, new doors opening up with relationships, new ways to bring help to our community. This theme also brings a direction from God to bring personal victory and deliverance. We still have new territory to claim in our lives but the enemy opposes that. Are you having a struggle claiming your ground? What is preventing you from stepping into God’s best for your life? In the last months of this year we will be ministering and encouraging you to claim your mountain! Claim your freedom! Say to God 'Give me this mountain Lord, I am believing for freedom this year.' In this Autumn season we hope to see you take that mountain and live in a new freedom and fullness. God will do it!
MENS WEEKEND AWAY IN CAPERNWRAY
From Friday 2 – Sunday 4 September many of the men will be away on a Christian weekend of worship, teaching and fun at Capernwray bible College. It promises to be a wonderful time!
LIFE GROUPS
As you know there are small groups that people can join in the Church. They have been called Cell groups. However, there are currently some negative connotations with that phrase, so we are re-naming them and calling them Life Groups. These are small groups where people can share their own life with each other, support each other and grow in fellowship. These are also groups where people can grow together in God’s abundant life, exploring the Word, and sharing in the life of the Holy Spirit. Finally these are groups where people can grow in Kingdom life, learning to grow in their ministry and reaching out to others. The groups encourage growth in fellowship, discipleship and ministry in a friendly and informal setting. We really encourage you to join a Life Group. We have 4 groups at the moment. One is led by Kathryn and meets on a Tuesday morning at 10.00am. One is led by Tim and meets on the Monday evening at 7.30pm. One is led by Steve Moss and meets on a Tuesday evening at 7.30pm. One is led by Jeni and meets on a Tuesday afternoon at 4.30pm. See Steve Moss if you would like to join one.
COMMUNICATION
Communication is so important in any relationship and community. Needs, ideas, concerns need to be shared so that we understand each other and grow together. As a Church leadership we want to improve and encourage that in 3 ways.
1 Pastor’s Surgery. This is like doctor’s surgery where people make an appointment to see their doctor to discuss something. Every Tuesday from 2.00pm – 3.30pm Pastor Steve will be available in the Church for anyone to come and see him to share. In order to fit people in we ask you to phone the Church office on the Monday and make an appointment for the Tuesday then we can guarantee time for communication.
2 Life group leader If you have anything you want to share you can always talk to your Life Group leader (or any other leader) any time and they can pass it on if necessary.
3 Suggestion box. We have a suggestion box at the back to Church and you can fill in a card and post it into the box. It will be ready and looked at that week if possible.
THURSDAY CHURCH NIGHTS
From September to November we will be continuing our fortnightly Church Night meetings called Growing Stronger. We have been reading the suggestion box cards and listening to the Lord about the theme for this Autumn. There will be a variety of meetings like before. These will include: teaching from visiting speaker Yan Hadley; our church’s; position on the Last Days and our Church’s stance on it; fellowship evenings; our church’s position on Israel with teaching and discussion groups. There will also be a short course on Deliverance and Victory over the enemy. These are things which people want to know about at the moment. It is going to be a great Autumn!
God bless. Pastor Steve.
